| AN INVESTIGATION & TERMINOLOGY |
| An investigation at it's most basic is standing around waiting for a response from spirit. Unlike the portrayal on some TV programmes things of the paranormal nature are not always quick to happen, it can take minutes or hours for us to have some sort of activity and even then it may well be discounted as normal - not Paranormal. We have a good social get together at investigations, we love a good laugh and when things seem literally dead we get talking and then things can kick off, spirit don't like to be ignored! It is a great night so please do join us. Everybody is welcome. Please note we may use other methods of communication than just our Mediums if you do not wish to participate in any experiment just say so. There will be plenty of breaks to recuperate flagging energies. |
Remember we will be working most of the time in darkness, It is advisable to bring a torch .. We ask you to provide your own refreshments, (hot drinks food), as this keeps the costs of investigations down. You are welcome to bring camera's, cam corders etc but be aware the cam corders need to have night shot mode. Ghost investigation Team are not responsible for any of your personal affects. You will also need a good supply of batteries. We will share the G.I.T's gadgets out amongst the teams, so you can all take an active part in the investigation. Depending on the amount of people present, we may divide into teams/groups each will have an experienced investigator with them, and a medium will always be present at each investigation. Vigils will be held throughout the evening in different parts of the building, each team will have radio contact. Experiments will be carried out to try and prove that spirit is present, obviously there is never a guarantee we will receive any evidence or activity, but we will do our best to provide proof... I should say we will ask Spirit to do their best! Smoking will not be allowed within the investigation area, a designated area will be confirmed on location, we do not want a possible manifestation to turn out to be smoke .. Very disheartening. Each investigation will be different so there is no set plan, but we will try to incorporate a seance & glass swirling into the evening dependent on time, as well as the 'normal' connecting to spirit via calling out and using the gifts of our Mediums. Some terms you may hear. EVP Electronic Voice Phenomenon... A way of detecting a spirits voice by using a recording device. E.M.F meter, (Electro-Magnetic field meter) a device that can pick up electronic and magnetic fields,it will also detect any distortion within the normal range of electro-magnetic field. Orbs. These are thought to be globe shaped light energies which are said to be spirit. They can also be dust or Moisture, or even flies and moths! The ones to look twice at normally have some sort of cell structure within, even faces have clearly shown up. They often appear at the same time as a medium will be pointing and saying a spirit is in a particular place,or that they can feel a cold spot. We have caught several in previous investigations that have been red, blue and even a green one. The best ones (in our opinion) are caught on camcorder and can have some very erratic movements. Poltergeist. From the German word... Noisy ghost. This word covers.. Objects that are moved also phenomena such as lights being turned on or off, banging, thumping by an unseen force. Trigger Object. An object like a coin or a cross placed on a piece of paper and the outline drawn, set in a locked off /sealed room, to see if spirit move the object. Also done with talcum powder/flour to see if fingerprints or footprints are left from spirit. Residual The energies left behind of previous occupants, a bit like a tape recording of the past recorded into the ground / bricks of the location. It is very important to realise that the methods below for contacting spirit are perfectly safe when used with the right protection and a Medium who has knowledge in these ways , by using these methods & others, you can be inviting any spirit into our realms... They say even though we pass over our personalities remain the same, if you were an extremely nasty person on this side ,theres a good chance you might not have changed on the other side.. So please NEVER attempt any of these ways without a competent Medium present. Trance. This is when the medium allows a spirit to use their body to aid/pass on communication, some mediums remember exactly what has happened, where as others may not remember a thing. Possession - same as trance with the exception being that the medium has not given permission for the spirit to use their body. Scrying The art of staring deeply into a mirror, water, crystal ball in order to see an image that might appear. These images might be symbolic, or as seems to be in our mediums cases the image has been that of a spirit who's face seems to transfigure over their's. Seance, A group of people sitting in a circle holding hands and using all their energies to hopefully contact someone who has passed over. Response from spirit can be given as knocks and raps for yes and no answers, feelings can be transferred from spirit. Glass divination, A group of people sitting at a table with an upturned glass and the index finger lightly placed on the glass, asking questions to spirit the response being that spirit will move the glass. Ouija board, A way of communicating with spirit using a board with the alphabet around the edges and a yes and no and a planchette which you place a finger on. The spirit will hopefully spell out with the aid of this board any replies to questions asked by the group around the table... Like glass divination but with a board and planchette (pointer). Table tipping. Again a group of people around a table calling upon spirit to communicate by moving the table in response For these last two you don't need a medium! Enjoyment/Fun . Hopefully this to be experienced by all on the investigation. Break. Time to chill out and wake up with coffee and food. These are a few things you might hear on an investigation, as always when in doubt please do ask. The aim is for proof of the Paranormal ... And an Enjoyable evening. |
