INVESTIGATION HELD AT BRNYYHFRYD SOCIAL CLUB. 22nd MAY 2010
This was an unusual investigation to say the least, it started with the venue having been double
booked and the first group being delayed in leaving so we ended up with a 2 hour delay in starting
our investigation. It was the hottest day of the year, and whilst we waited in the skittles room we
were all feeling a little overheated and anxious to start investigating the building. We all picked up
on the fact the house felt very sad and with respect; neglected. This all comes from the energy
within the building not necessarily people who are there or from the current era.
We were eventually allowed upstairs ( Jeannette senses a male spirit who tries to stop people
going up and down the stairs and would have been seen, told to one other person no other
medium knows about it),to start the investigation only to find evidence that the previous group or
their guests had been drinking (confirmed by staff), and the energies were not good. In all
honesty we were horrified as the first rule of thumb in any work that is done with the
paranormal/spirit realms is you need a clear thinking head so drinking alcohol is one of the two
things you never ever do …we have to say in our humble opinion anyone who works with the
spiritual realms and drinks at the same time is totally irresponsible and a danger to themselves and
others who are with them. We set up our hub had a quick look round, removed bottles and glasses
out of harms way and then divided into two teams to investigate further.
Team A
Julie, Debbie, Steve, Jason and two staff members.
Right hand side of stairs front room.
Debs; Date 1880, cowboys and Indians!
Steve; Industrial specialist, two men not talking, wearing black cap and overalls/coat, busy making
wicker baskets.
Shown a white rose in memory of a lady that passed to spirit. The gent is 5’4 - 5’5 pre-first world
war, wearing a grey jumper and the name of Albert.
Debs; Building was used as a convalescence home, shown a man with a tumour on his right hand
side. A quiet genteel man 1915 and embarrassed by his disfigurement, feels shut away and
forgotten about. Debs is feeling shaky and very emotional and gets the name Bert which may be
the same gentleman Albert picked up earlier.
Steve; Shown a clock set at 11.45 and a lady walking outside carrying two metal buckets, possibly
a maid. Late teens early 20’s a quiet kindred spirit “Annabella”
Debs; Gets the name William Jessup 1700’s attire, 5’6 dark hair, good looking. A riding accident
and being shown a well in the front of the house.
Steve; shown wire fencing possibly put up a s a quarantine barrier.
Debs; Picking up on a stable block, connected with William Jessup.
Steve; African lady, very dark, tribal clothes and dancing a happy lady.
Debs; Image of somebody on the stairs, gentleman older man appx 70 had house built or was
living there from an early stage.
Small room
Steve; Feeling of swaying, confused energy. Room feels it should be bigger and may have been
altered back in the 1940’s or 1950’s. Seeing fruit trees (orchard) in the grounds, and green
houses. A lady sat near the window reading a book hour after hour. Nothing else felt.
Large room left side of building at back.
Staff member; Feels an energy or something touch left side of their head.
Steve; Gentleman shows him a medal pressed and coloured red and black, which he treasured
whilst alive, and misses not having it with him in the spirit realms. Name of Rupert, about 15 years
ago, looks like a coca cola bottle lid may have bought it form here, gentleman’s mental age is lower
than his actual physical age.
(Jason’s light for camera has suddenly and unexpectedly drained and leaves to replace it). He
would go fishing. May not have lived here but had connections through his father. A sheep dog by
his side he is saying Polly put the kettle on and Rupert the bear. Talks about narrow steps.
Little girl, six years old blond and pigtails, happy child linked with the building, 1950’s name of
Mary, playing and jumping about. Has poked people in the bar area downstairs. She does not like
the man who sits on the stairs, he appears to be stopping people coming up the stairs. He protects
his things which are hidden upstairs. A spirit gent steps close to Steve and wishes to use him to
communicate but Steve’s guides tell him to step back. Steve is unhappy with the energy. A big tall
solid man and he refuses to go. He seems to be on a mission, shows Steve a thick silver chain, died
here, not that long ago. Appears to be a heavy drinker, into weight lifting, name of Malcolm Rees
possibly passed 1980 - 1990 he appears angry and frustrated. Has tattoos and wearing a white
vest. Does not appear to be very old and is giving Steve a headache possibly a brain haemorrhage.
Falling onto stone steps either through the haemorrhage or the fall caused it. People may have
feared him, but he was no trouble. Shows Steve a boxing belt and pointing to an area across from
the building, possibly trying to show the direction where he lived. Life’s events made him the way
he was and he has carried this anger and frustration over with him.
Nothing else is felt or picked up on and the teams join back together.
Team B
Peter, Jeannette, Sue,(trainee) Alan,(Trainee) Jan & Helen
Kitchen area;
Alan smells gas and feels sick, Sue and Jeannette feel as if on board a ship, swaying. Sue picks up
on a monk but whispers to Alan about it and then keeps quiet about IT, as she thinks she has
imagined it; she says about it later on when Jeannette mentions a monk , this is her very first
investigation and learns quickly that we have to say all that we sense, see, feel or hear as it is
important no matter how daft it may seem.
Jeannette senses a residual energy pacing back and forth and getting quiet stroppy. A tall male
figure name of Peter Marshall and a swimmy feeling. The room is not right and has been altered.
Jeannette and Sue feel a very distinct cold draft, Alan also can feel it moving in response to
Jeannette calling out for any spirit person to come forward. As Jeannette calls out the draft comes
and goes, gets stronger and colder ad then disappears, peter is convinced he can feel a draft fro
under the window sill area, but everyone else can not feel it at all. A lady from 1847 is telling us to
get out, she’s busy and can do without us in her way. Very agitated energy. A strong flick is given
under Jeannette’s eye and then lily’s are seen and smelt.
Jeannette does not feel well at all and then feels ok … then a feeling of being pushed backwards.
Totally mixed up energies.
Small lounge area
Name of Mary Wallace/Wallis
A cowelled figure would have been seen by people either a monk or a nun, feeling of being
watched or followed, Jeannette is now very hot and clammy, has a hunched feeling and a facial
disfigurement overshadows her own face on the right side almost like palsy. Anyone living here in
the upstairs flat would see figures darting in and out and hear a rasping noise. Then the words
“you will swing for it” are clearly heard by Jeannette.
Alan feels a someone spent a lot of time looking out of the window and did not leave the room
often.
Sue feels someone brush past her.
The monk was mainly based on the land not the building but now comes into the building purely
because he can!
Jeannette continually gets Monk - falsehood and then another voice telling us to “get the f****
out of here”
This room should have been a lot bigger. And suddenly with out any warning Jeannette is shut
down by her guides.
Bigger of the two lounges and joined by Debbie from group A.
Between the two mediums Jeannette and Debbie they pick up on things simultaneously;
A lot of lust killings and anger, a constriction of the throat a man, possibly suicide a hanging, but
not intended just meant for attention but went wrong. Loneliness, rejection, sadness.
Year 1915 could be a convalescence homes after the war, very sad. Line to a song “A sailor I
would be” Sue feels as if she is swaying and she is! A vortex is felt in the corner of the room. 1947
and feeling of sickness and heaviness. An orb is seen by Peter and Debs, and Debs suddenly feels
like slamming the door shut.
Helen, Sue and Jeannette stand by the fireplace, all can not stop swaying and the feeling of being
pushed backwards an forward sis completely unreal. Helen and Jeannette both belch loudly and
feeling sick. A heavy male presence who likes the women. Alan shuts the door Helen's back starts
to hurt and Jeannette eyes are getting really heavy. It is hot upstairs and this may or may not
contribute to the feelings they all suffered.
Tea Break
Right hand room with chairs in.
Horses are heard by Jeannette and says the owner would be a very proud man but with a short
fuse. Debs gets again a forceful man aged 70 looks a bit like Mr Burns form the Simpson’s and
again the name of William Jessup who would have had a son.
Jeannette feels there would have been a church/chapel /a place of worship nearby if not in the
grounds and can psychically see people in an orderly line walking to the place of worship.
1800’s seem significant but in relation to what we are not sure.
A spirit lady clearly says Merthyr Tydfil. Nothing else is forthcoming so we have a break.
Downstairs areas.
Main Bar
It is felt that who ever built this place either lost it in a bet or in gambling, although Alan feels the
man never completed the building as he ran out of money.
There is a constant feeling of being watched, and Debs feels like she has travel sickness in one part
of the room.
Other than sadness and lethargy nothing else is picked up on. So we move to the main area for
entertainment where the stage is.
This feels like it may have been a barn, a lot lighter in energy. Jason can smell vomit up on the
stage, Jeannette can not, after a few minutes Jason can not smell it and Jeannette smells smoke
…unexplained
the male member of staff with us feels as if someone is behind him and possibly touching him,
Jeannette goes to see but unable to sense or feel any energy around him. A few light anomalies
caught on camera but nothing else forthcoming.
Cellar
Debs and Jeannette both simultaneously pick up on a body under the ground, near the doorway. A
male child passed with an illness 1764 initial M (not this building but the land holds residual
energy of spirit).
Steve picks up on a thin pretty girl dressed in white and holding a baby. She was the mistress to a
man who once lived on this land and used this area to hide back in the late 1700’s (residual energy
of spirit). A man steps forward to Steve 6’ tall, slim, dressed smartly and sporting a dickey bow,
asks Steve what we are all doing here.
We call out to spirit, Helen is swaying and has to hold on to Sue to steady herself and the cam
corder. Male member of staff feels pressure on his shoulders as if someone has placed their hands
there. Steve can feel a powerful presence but the entity refuses to make himself known, this
energy wants to hurt us especially Jeannette as she has sensed a monk with not good intentions.
There is anger, hurt and frustration Helen is swaying more, Julie has to sit down as does
Jeannette. Jan is feeling uncomfortable and moves away from the other three. We call out to the
monk but he refuses to talk but is very good at sending the energies into us as we all start to feel
cold, and swaying, all of a sudden it just stops … and everyone feels ok. Steve, Debbie and
Jeannette strongly feel that the spirits in this building are fed up being asked to perform also they
say they are taunted and people are being rude, they have had enough . We leave the cellar and go
back to the room upstairs where there is a table with an upside down glass on it, we have no idea
if this has been left by another group after a séance/glass divination session or just left like it, we
treat it as if its been left after a divination best to err on the side of caution. We gather round the
table say protection and place fingers on glass, Helen calls out, glass moves then stops.

Jeannette asks if this is the monk she connected with in the cellar. He tells her yes and is not happy
we are here. She asks how he knows the male member of staff, he tells her he just likes him and
wants him.

Jeannette confirms a couple of personal things with male member of staff which proves this monk
has indeed followed him home.

We try to see if there is a connection and the only one we can think of is Jeannette and Pete do
medieval re-enactments covering time periods 1300’s - 1450’s maybe this makes the monk feel
more comfortable. We are not sure, in reality Jeannette actually has a totally unexplainable
revulsion of monks and nuns.
This monk is now talking to Jeannette, he tells her he loves the male member of staff. He favours
men bodies to women’s which we query as he is a monk!!!! But he says he never upheld the
celibacy law and has always been attracted to men. He likes the male member of staff as he knows
he is the same. He becomes a little more personal and then says he will be going home with the
male member of staff. Jeannette tells him he can not do this and calls in an ancient law to make
sure he remains only on this land / building but able to go to the spirit realms if he wished to.
We can ask spirit to move on and most are happy to do so, but they remain with free will and thus
can come back at any time, we have no right to try and force a spirit to the spirit home, we can
only ask. This monk wishes to remain here, although after spitting at Jeannette he walks off in a
right huff at not getting his own way. Steve closes down the séance and places protection around
the people and building.
Jeannette takes the male member of staff to one side for a private word with regards his spiritual
protection, safety and the monk.
The investigation comes to a close. An unusual investigation as each medium was halted in their
quest for information only allowed to find out the tiniest thing then cut short, this has never
happened to us before and confirms to us that the energies here have had enough!
We would like to thank the staff for allowing us to investigate this building.
Postscript;
We strongly believe that spirit can get fed up with paranormal groups continually investigating a
place. A bit like someone always knocking on your door and asking you to come out with them …
in the end you lose your rag ..well so can spirit or they just wont come and talk.
We have seen the effects of a hacked of spirit and no one wants this to happen, in this case it is
obvious that a group regularly go in to hold séances and investigations and they or their guests
are drinking alcohol as well. It is our opinion that this monk (and other spirits) will only be pushed
so far and he (they) is/are very near the brink of causing some serious harm, so who ever the
group is please think twice before drinking and start acting responsibly on investigations.

celibacy law and has always been attracted to men. He likes the male member of staff as he knows
he is the same. He becomes a little more personal and then says he will be going home with the
male member of staff. Jeannette tells him he can not do this and calls in an ancient law to make
sure he remains only on this land / building but able to go to the spirit realms if he wished to.
We can ask spirit to move on and most are happy to do so, but they remain with free will and thus
can come back at any time, we have no right to try and force a spirit to the spirit home, we can
only ask. This monk wishes to remain here, although after spitting at Jeannette he walks off in a
right huff at not getting his own way. Steve closes down the séance and places protection around
the people and building.
Jeannette takes the male member of staff to one side for a private word with regards his spiritual
protection, safety and the monk.
The investigation comes to a close. An unusual investigation as each medium was halted in their
quest for information only allowed to find out the tiniest thing then cut short, this has never
happened to us before and confirms to us that the energies here have had enough!
We would like to thank the staff for allowing us to investigate this building.
Postscript;
We strongly believe that spirit can get fed up with paranormal groups continually investigating a
place. A bit like someone always knocking on your door and asking you to come out with them …
in the end you lose your rag ..well so can spirit or they just wont come and talk.
We have seen the effects of a hacked of spirit and no one wants this to happen, in this case it is
obvious that a group regularly go in to hold séances and investigations and they or their guests
are drinking alcohol as well. It is our opinion that this monk (and other spirits) will only be pushed
so far and he (they) is/are very near the brink of causing some serious harm, so who ever the
group is please think twice before drinking and start acting responsibly on investigations.
