INVESTIGATED JANUARY 26th 2007 This was to be an interesting investigation, we had heard that a very well known local Medium had refused to enter a certain area of the site and that some groups had not lasted the course! We love a challenge and were determined to find the area not liked and to last the course … we did both. Only one member of the group was privy to the area and his lips remained sealed until the investigation was closed down. This was a night of shadowy people, unexplained footsteps, lights, flashes, and noises. We would like to say a big thank you to the Gower Heritage Centre for allowing us access to this lovely place. Not only are the staff very friendly, the café serves up the most wonderful food, and the site is well worth a look. THE INVESTIGATION. 8pm gather in the hub sort out teams, equipment, a quick talk on health & safety and what to expect, then we split into two groups. Group B; start down by the animal enclosures 8.45pm. Lee picks up on residual energy of a horse and cart, laden with bales of hay. A man in his early twenties falls of the side of the cart and goes under the wheels date…1767 Three boys are seen playing, one loses his life drowning in the lake, and the name of Thomas Harding aged 8 years the year is 1842. Lee calls out to spirit and both he and Katie hear a thud, he calls again and again thuds are heard along with Lee seeing residual flashes of horses. Group go to coffin area. Where Lee picks up on a male energy, blind in one eye 5’8 – 5’9 scar running from forehead to cheek across the right eye. An unkempt figure, Katie catches a light anomaly on camcorder. This spirit is grounded and agitated, he was hung for stealing, the year is 1918 – 1932, and Lee is told that he worked the land. Lee sees someone walking the other side of the fence, Pete goes to check but no one is out there. Footsteps heard above…again no one is above this area. Lee asks for a name and is shown Alec Baldwin the actor. Jeannette’s group joins us and as Jeannette backs into the corner she feels violently sick and has to leave rather quickly, once outside she recovers and feels as if her stomach is on fire for brief moments as if it has been sliced open. Meanwhile Lee picks up that this spirit stole tools for people and received money in exchange. He was bought here to be hung. He was not a bad person. Nothing else is picked up on. We have a coffee break and then both groups join together for a while, Lee’s team then go off to the entrance area at 12.30am; Lee picks up on a German soldier wearing a tin hat and being shown pellets and cannon balls. He also is given a native American Indian and some Egyptian hieroglyphics no idea why he is given/ shown these. Jessica gets the name/word rasher And Peter is shown old cartoon characters. 1am Wood turning room. Jessica has someone blowing on her face otherwise nothing else is forthcoming. Lisa tells Jan a mans name she was given as she walked past the toilet area just before we begin the investigation the name sounds like Meir ion or Myers Team A 9.10pm Wood turners hut Not a comfortable feeling in here, you are being watched by unseen eyes. The surname of Williams and also Davies is given and feels that is very significant to this area, things happen here, lathes turn unaided and objects moved. This area is felt to be on original foundations. Name of Margaret is given. A man appears in spirit form showing himself as 5’4 slim/wiry a wrinkled face and balding but had a fine mop of hair in his younger days. Name of Harries is given; he is in a brown leather apron. He is cross because he doesn’t like people invading his territory; he passed naturally aged 73 years. He stays here because of his love of the area; he acts as a sort of guardian but can come and go if he pleases. Jeannette calls out a slight tap is heard but nothing else is forthcoming, she thanks spirit for his time and we move to the Coffin area, as Jeannette goes towards a corner her ears pop and she has a high pressure whistling, this then happens to Lisa and Jessica. Jeannette feels very sick and leaves this area quickly. Jeannette is supported outside by Peter who is concerned as she is retching badly and in pain with her stomach as if she has been sliced open, a red hot feeling. We feel it is right to point out that Jeannette was perfectly well before hand and is susceptible to spirit impressing their feelings on her especially as she does trance Medium ship. No one else was affected like this in this area. Jeannette recovers quickly and remains outside whilst the others carry on investigating this area. Lisa, Jessica, Jan and Helen join Jeannette. Jan and Jeannette clearly hear shuffling and a footstep down outside the café area an orb is caught on camera but no one is actually in this area. The batteries drain simultaneously on Jan’s and Lisa’s camera. Helen asks Jeannette if she touched her head, but Jeannette’s arms are no where near Helen's head. Whilst waiting for the other team Jeannette’s right leg goes ‘odd’ almost as if it is either wooden or stiff jointed, a spirit gentleman has joined her, a lovely soul name of Malcolm Waybridge (sounds like). He used to work here, and was telling Jeannette “it’s ok pet” when she was impressed earlier with the sickness, the year of 1293 is given. He is a joker, a bit of a fool and does a dance which is quite funny as he gets Jeannette to show the others how it went …she can’t dance! But as she is doing this an orb is caught on her legs. Malcolm would collect bits of wood and sometimes use them for drumming and to this day you can hear the sound of drumming. A truly lovely soul. Coffee break. During this break Lee and Pete go outside Pete has taken Lee outside on a pretext, it is in fact Lee’s birthday and we had bought him a cake with candles so wanted to ‘set’ this up without him realising, but whilst outside Pete saw a white mist travelling along the wall, they tried recreating their movements in case it was a reflection but nothing and unfortunately they didn’t have any equipment with them!! Jan, Helen & Jeannette decide to take a look outside whilst everyone is having a break, armed with a cam corder and camera they walk around to the smithy. Nothing there and apart from Jeannette having the strong feeling that the smithy is not in the original place and may have been bigger nothing is picked up on. The entire groups join together to go down the pathway towards the weir. Earlier Jeannette had sensed the spirit of a woman running from where some cottages stand down towards the water, and it is this lady she now tries to re-connect with. A shadow of a person is seen walking across the water as if a bridge is there by more than one person, no one is there and no bridge. Jeannette can see the woman in the trees on the opposite bank to the path the initial M is given strongly. The feeling as if things should be in reverse has Jeanette totally confused. The man who waits for her is here, he doesn’t want us here and shouts and swears, the name of Jim Davies is given to Jeannette who now feels shaky and legs turned to jelly. We have all got our night vision but the area seems to suddenly get darker and everyone agrees it feels as if this area is closing in on us it feels like we are surrounded. This has to be the first time for us that everyone in the group all felt the same. Quite unnerving. Jeannette is retching again gets it under control quickly and finds out that two men had a fight here and one was sliced across the stomach with a broad sword, they were arguing over a woman. She wants to go back to 1300’s and says there was a fire here. There was a water mill but not like it is now. The woman is impressing again of her running towards the river/stream she’s is running from a man she is looking behind her in a panic and runs straight into this other man. William Davies is given. It feels as if she is taken away her right to something as if she in a way is abducted from this land. She had a disagreement with the man she runs from, she is very important to this area, possibly a landowner’s daughter maybe. A battle between families a feud, as Jeannette is trying to sort this jumbled information out Lee has a stabbing sensation in the back between his shoulder blades, Jeannette turns and says “that happened to Daniel” The name Maegan comes in very strongly, possibly this ladies name. It is felt that machinery near here would be heard to start, possibly a loom. Visitors would have the sensation of being pushed along this path. A man steps in very obnoxious and every word is a swear word he tells us in no uncertain terms to go away, get off his land. We all feel as if the villagers have turned out to watch us from the woods, a negative feeling felt by all, Helen hears shouting, Jeannette hears a mans groan. Jeannette walks off down the path singing… our poor ears…she cant sing either! It is this lady who is showing us how she enjoyed the land in happier times before she was forced into a marriage, the name of Richard is given a date of 1526 and then at least 25 men are around us there was an argument over land they are not happy with their lot, again someone is seen walking over the water but all human forms are accounted for. Farmers had to bring their food and animals to this place they were not allowed to take them to markets. They are angry because of this. 1203-1209 it is felt the mill was here. The blacksmith has a strong connection with this land, again the names of Davies and Williams are given. Jeannette feels that in early 1800’s the mill became more commercial and diverse, Harries was a strong character here, along the waters banks are some wheels and she is drawn to them for some reason that is not forthcoming. 1932 is significant. Wood turners hut the feeling of someone falling under the wheel but nothing else forthcoming. Tea Break. 11.40pm - We go back to the coffin area, no one feels ill down here now, we can hear footsteps above us, again Peter goes to check it out but there is no one there, as it is a store room filled with boxes. Lee calls out but nothing happens, so we split up again. Lee’s group stay at the entrance (information written earlier on) whilst Jan Helen and Jeannette go to the Smithy. Jeannette gets the expression of “Murder most foul” which we can only surmise there was a murder committed here. Jeannette feels things in a shop called Pine Needles would be moved about and people would be pushed in the back as they walked past the rows of books. Eartha Kitt is given we have no idea why, the only thing we can think of is there must be a link to either her nationality or colour. The three return to the entrance area after Lee moves off, the name of Tracy is given strongly, the feeling of a woman being cornered, and an assault/violence this is given by Helen, Jeannette sees a small bladed knife, the name Jason is also given. And Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ….. Death and riddles is said. We all decide to go for a last wonder along the footpath before closing the investigation, again shadows of people are seen clearly by several investigators, voices are clearly heard from afar, and many of the team see a blue flash which we can not explain. We all stroll back to clear away our equipment and chat about a fascinating night. We have to say that a lot of things happened which we have no explanation for, yes the dark does play tricks with your eyesight, but it is not normal for everyone to see the exact same thing if this is a trick of the light and was not a power of suggestion as we all spoke at once pointing out either shadows of people or flashes of light. A good investigation on the points of the unexplainable. And what a way to spend your birthday Lee! |
