| HAY CASTLE REPORT. Team members present; Peter, Jeannette, Julie, Jan, Caroline, Debbie, Jason and guest Angela. We set up our hub and then started the investigation outside the building in the surrounding grounds. Notes are taken by Jeannette as everyone saunters off in their own directions, in pairs, so no one knew what any one else had picked up on until they re-grouped … this was interesting as we had all picked up on similar things. We start with a walk around the building and immediately we are all drawn to old trees at the original front of the building. We were all getting the feeling of being watched and a few of us felt monks were nearby. Debs wonders if the ruins to the right of the building was possibly a chapel of some sort. Jeannette got a ‘storming’ of the castle and could clearly hear marching feet. The name Maud is also heard by Jeannette. Angela senses horses standing by the small wooden door. The ’twisted’ tree draws all of us and you can see from the photos why we named it the above, a gentle energy emanates from her, as Jeannette places her hand on the trunk she is shot back to a battle, a very bloody battle at that. She hears the clash of swords and shouting, this appears to be a battle to take over the castle. Possibly the year 1426?? definitely the 1400’s. Jeannette then felt the presence of two lovers, who should not have been there, the time era of 1742. Whether this tree is that old we have no idea, but it is possible to ‘read’ the land she (the tree) stands on as her roots go deep into the ground, which of course holds the energy of time before. Angela says the tree is kind and has a huggable likeness about her, with lots of energy. Julie feels sadness, as if its been left behind, lonely and forgotten. Julie has also picked up on a Victorian lady, name of Emily, who is sat painting the right side of the building. She walks round the ground reading. The main entrance porch/doorway she feels a religious man is knocking on the door, linked with news of a bereavement. We all spend some time looking at the growths on this tree, seeing lions heads, children’s faces, and a skeletal hand, again these have been included in our photo gallery. We walk round to the side of the ruins where we have been given permission to go round the no entry barrier. Julie and Jeannette suddenly realise they are walking very slowly with hands clasped together, it feels as if they are wearing a robe garment that does not allow a long stride (which they both have). They look at each other and both say “Sensing Monks” In front of the large wooden doors where there is a danger sign as part of the wall is perilously close to collapsing, Julie sense someone (a monk) banging on the doors to be allowed in. Julie steps back and realises again her hands are clasped as if in silent prayer. Jeannette and Julie ‘see’ a long row of Monks behind them going all the way back up towards the house waiting in line. We ask Angela to see what her pendulum shows and it clearly swings to a yes in answer to her question “are monks present” in this area, she says there are many of them. We had not told Angela what the two of us had sensed before hand. To one side of these gates Angela senses something, Jeannette and Julie take a look, and are told to “get out” they feel women were not allowed in this area. Angela also detects a woman of a different era, standing by these large wooden gates. Debs joins us and she feels a sharp pain in her left side. And again “she shouldn’t be here”. We regroup and carry on round the ruins/building. The small arch windows, Jeannette gets Inner sanctum. At front of building (entrance to public), here there is a wooden structure presumably retaining the wall. Jeannette lays a hand on it and clearly gets “don’t touch” so Debs places her hand on it and can feel it vibrating. Peter wonders if it has come from a boat/ship Angela dowses and is told it is not from a ship but from a gate, there were two but only this one is here. We move round to the rear of the building where the honesty books are kept. Debs and Jeannette feel very light headed and have a headache. Angela, Debs and Jeannette now have a horrible taste in their mouth, only way we can describe it is , a metallic taste, like a stale or bad breath type taste, not nice at all. Julies heart is pounding, fear, waiting for battle to commence. Jeannette feels as if she is falling over the edge of a parapet or battlement and immense fear. The name of Clarence is given. In the stables area Jeannette, Julie and Debs all feel there has been a hanging, we were separate when receiving this information. We have a coffee break in the kitchen and try the dowsing rods out. They clearly tell us we need to investigate behind the brown door which we presumed was the cellar. Unfortunately this door was locked so we noted to ask the caretaker later if we could gain access to the cellar. We did later found out that this led into the stable area, but unfortunately for us it was inaccessible, we feel lots more information could be gained from this area, and hope that if the stables are ever made accessible we could return to find out their secrets. It was felt by all that child spirits are definitely here in the building, running around and causing mild inconvenience’s by moving objects or poking people. Jeannette feels there are bodies in what we thought was the cellar but transpired it was the stables. Meanwhile Angela who uses a pendulum for information had written down, bodies in the cellar, this was not revealed until we had finished the investigation of the whole building. Jan gets the names William and Maud DeBrosse. Incarcerated; starving. Feel the era was 1100’s - 1130’s. Before heading to the top of the house we place a Victorian bell on the table, motion sensors and a laser grid are set up with a locked off camera in the kitchen, We decided to go to the attic area and work our way down. … Attic; The attic is full of books, and feels very much that at every step we are being watched, but no one wishes to talk to us. Jeannette has a definite pat on the head from unseen hands. Jeannette calls out to spirit asking for them to interact with the team, a loud scrape or squeak is heard but it is very windy out and this may have been a natural phenomenon, although it did not happen again. Jason feels we should ask spirit to move a book especially if it has the same on it as one of the spirits we can all sense. Nothing happens. Debs picks up on cats. Debs and Caroline feel that there were mischievous children here. Jason asks the spirits to go to the kitchen to ’play’ with the green lights. We do have some phenomena that has appeared and are currently examining it. Light anomalies are clearly seen on camcorder and again we are awaiting clarification of these. Jan picks up the name Matilda a lady dressed in green and of a Medieval fashion. Waiting, watching out of the window. Debs has a headache. Angela feels children playing, especially on the stairs, so Jeannette asks them to show themselves and light anomalies appear. The name Sarah is given and Jeannette is asked if the lady at top of the stairs( Angela) is strict Jeannette tells the spirit child Angela is not strict and nice to work with. Sarah asks “does she give good hugs” to which Jeannette says “yes” and two light anomalies are seen coming further p the stairs. Jeannette asks if they would like us to go downstairs with them, and asks Sarah who the other child is, Jeannette suddenly has a severe pain in her chest, and a darker light anomaly comes up the stairs, stops and then goes down again. Jeannette gets the name Edward. Also the names Lizzy/Elizabeth and Peter are given but not recorded as to who received them or in what context. Moving down to the middle floor level which included, office, toilet and large hall. Office; Man walks through here as if in a hurry holding important documents, he feels energy of the living and is not adverse to pushing people or moving objects in this room. He means no harm. Hall; Debs gets a really hot forehead and a connection with a nun or clergy man, also the name George and wonders if a priory was here or nearby. A light anomaly seen. Angela says a novice is here who never became a nun. Jeannette can see a servant girl unsure of era but wearing a hip flaring skirt, with a blouse/gypsy type top and a dark vest type of garment over this. She seems a busy girl but will not talk. Jeannette is now feeling important and almost as if she wants to strut as she picks up on a man quite portly and of some importance. He struts with his fingers tucked into a waistcoat. On being asked who he is he turns looks at Jeannette and says “Surveyor of all, doer of none”. Light anomaly seen by Pete and Jan. Jason then calls out to spirit, and the portly man says he is not happy that a fireplace at the other end of the hall is covered by a false wall, also a coat of arms has been hidden. Jeannette and Angela feel this may have been used as a type of court or Judgment room. Jan senses a man being pulled off his horse and dragged into the castle name of Robert Marshall, a turncoat. 1346 he was hung outside after being lynched by a mob. He wears a white shirt, brown beeches and boots but no hat. A conflict with Henry. Nothing else is forthcoming. Main book area and rear door vestibule. Julie, Jeannette, Angela and Debs go to the small rear door vestibule area the door seems odd, and as Julie and Jeannette approach it they can not physically walk past the threshold, as we stand there in a small group the door just seems to darken and almost disappears. It goes completely black, Debs sees a priest coming through dressed al in black, Julie feels that this may have been a door where people were led to their death. Debs sees this as also being part of a gamekeepers cottage at one time. We wander round the main book area, but unfortunately the caretaker was using this area and so lights were on and they were using a computer, but with so many books here containing so much residual energy it would be almost impossible to detect spirit from the house. Jeannette, Julie and Angela can smell smoke and feel in this area there had been a fire if not two! Nothing else forthcoming, other than Jeannette is feeling decidedly ‘odd’ she has gone very bored and ‘vacant’ looking and is in fact struggling to stop someone from spirit coming in to close, they don‘t wish to talk, so rather than risk a possible trance situation we decide to have a coffee break. After a coffee we have permission to see the cellar, this is when we find out that the brown door that spirit wished us to go through was to the stables not the cellar. But we decide to have a look in the cellars anyway. It is a small area although it is felt the ‘tunnels’ should go under the stable area and as Jeannette says this light anomalies are caught on camcorder. A male energy not nice, heavy footed (these would have been heard), does not want us here and we need to leave the cellars quickly. We always heed anything that may be threatening so we leave this area, on camcorder several unexplained light anomalies are captured. Bedroom two; Jeannette hears “off to the gallows” Light anomaly seen. Debs gets roses and wonders if it is The War of the Roses. The bed has drawn our attention, it does not feel right, energy wise, heavy feeling and not one of us would want to sleep in this room. Jeannette lies down on the right side of the bed and immediately feels as if she is an inured male, and a lady is looking over her, taking care off and tending to a wound. Debs feels this lady is wearing a mop cap. Jeannette feels this young male will die of his wounds, an infection. When asked what era Jeannette and Debs both say in unison 1549. The lady says she never intended it to be this way. Debs now lies on the right side and feels like she is being pushed down into the bed, a pain in left foot. Jeannette who is now on the left side coughs violently. The cough and pain in leg feel as if its more modern, almost an old couple. Debs foot is really painful. Jeannette tells her its because she stood on something. There is a lot of energy in this room , it feels like the bed has had people pass over in it. It is felt that anyone sleeping in this bed would wake to see lots of people (spirit) watching them, sends a shiver down our spines… Jeannette gets the name Arthur Longfellow. Nothing more forthcoming so we move to . First bedroom; Debs has tingling lips, and can see a wedding scene. A young woman, 19/20 years old in a wedding dress. She is shown lemons, and told the marriage never took place. A bitterness, (lemons) a broken heart. “nothing came of it” a war going on Crimea war. Someone went away and never came back. Jason feels a cold spot near Debs. The girl with Debs is very small, name of Louise. She lived here, late 1800’s, lots of sorrow, tears and sadness. She says he was only 35. Jeannette on the other side of the room is once again battling someone else’s feelings, she not only looks hacked off but also very tired and drawn. Someone wants to stop someone else talking and is trying to distract Jeannette, but her protection is in place and she will not allow this energy through. She is trying to hold off a male energy to allow a female to come through but it is a battle, eventually Angela says there is a female spirit, she is in the kitchen area, she wants to talk only to Jeannette as she feels a connection with her, so Angela asks if the spirit will come up stairs to us, she agrees. It is to do with the cellar (stable area). Something was done to her in the cellar (stable),she was killed there. She as not a servant girl, she was the daughter of the house. Not killed straight away. Her parents were not involved it was her brother. Several women over the years eventually murdered in the same place. We ask her to tell us what happened to her, she does not wish to. Jeannette has a terrific pain in her left leg, as if its being cut off, the brother is trying to distract her from getting answers, the female is asked if she wants help to move on but she says no. We ask if others need help she is unclear. In asking if she wants us to help her brother she says yes, he needs to go … so Jeannette deals with this on her own quietly and says all is ok. The female is reluctant to answer any questions and although many are asked she does not reply. We find out there were more than 6 murders some bodies buried in the grounds and others in the cellar that runs under the stable area. He name of Rose is given, but Jeannette does not feel this is this particular spirit energy. The parents knew what their son had done but nothing regarding what happened to him. All goes quiet. No one is feeling or sensing anything at all and it is felt that in this wonderful building there are many tales to be told but for whatever reason on this night they had said enough. We decide to wind the investigation down. ...................................................................................................................... It was an interesting if not frustrating night, knowing there are lots of energy here they did not wish to communicate. A barrier was put in place by spirit, maybe they were being forced not to talk to us, we do not know. We often felt as if we were being gagged as well, because sometimes we just could not get the words out. Also being unable to walk into certain areas, but in saying that; it was very interesting and a pleasure for us to work alongside Angela who used her pendulum to receive information and did indeed back up a lot of the Mediums information. We would certainly welcome her on board the team again. We would like to thank the owners for allowing us to conduct an investigation at this amazing building. Although partly in ruins the building still commands respect and the inside is beautiful with it’s original woodwork. We would love to return to this building, as it has many more tales to tell and mysteries to unfold. |
