| MARGAM CASTLE 01.12.06 Margam Castle is due to close for refurbishment soon, so we were pleased to be able to investigate this marvellous building before the renovations begin. The night was cold,wet and windy ….. Just right for investigating. We had a large group of over thirty people so we divided into teams and started investigating. of groan, no one else was around at this time, as they come out from setting the object up a skull of an this room!!!! this room!!!! Helen’s team. 9.30pm downstairs rooms. Various people can smell smoke. Jeannette senses a boy and Phil can see him. Aged appx; 12, blond, blue eyes, he used to work in the house. The year of 1928 is given and he had a love of horses. The name of Edward is also given and he would have been a servant in this house. Helen feels compelled to lean against the fireplace as if warming herself by the fire and Phil gets the name of Captain William Talbot. Jeannette hears the name Elwyn but no other information is given. Kevin sees a person standing by Helen, he see’s the man roar into Helen’s face. Phil says this was Robert Scott. Phil calls out to Robert…nothing Jeannette calls out to him and immediately given the sensation of feeling very sick. He wants us to leave the building, he was murdered here. He is now the guardian of the building and also the spirits that reside here with him. Jeannette says Elizabeth Mansel has been seen here in the library, she walks in a white gown. She has been seen over by the windows. A small girl is with her named Emma about 5 years old, who passed with pneumonia type illness. The names of Peter and Helen are given and we are told they loved each other but Peter was married to someone else. Robert is bothering Jeannette by making her legs feel odd. She tells him to pack it in. 1828 is the year given for peter and Helen, they have recently been shown the light and are no longer grounded but free to come and go as they please. Peter worked with horses and she was a maid. Jeannette asks if there is a stream nearby. Confirmed there is… It is felt that there were 3 drowning’s in this river, two of children and one other. Dogs have been seen in the park and mainly stairwell and toilet areas, a golden retriever, an Irish wolfhound and also a black/chocolate Labrador. Gabrielle a servant early 1800’s, died at the age of 33. Laughter has been heard and a hurrying of feet, also a type of manic laughter. An image by the door way shows itself a small wizened old man, hunched over, with wispy grey hair. He reminds Jeannette of a wizard, she feels he has nothing to do with the current building, the date given is 1256. Main staircase. 10.15pm Phil and Jan again hear a man growling, the exact same noise they heard earlier. Phil and Helen go around the bottom of the staircase and Phil sees a man standing right next to Helen. Jeannette feels she needs to walk up the stairs but also she has to count them on the way up and also on the way back down again. Phil walks with her and she starts to count and go up. Just as she nears the top a young spirit girl walks straight into her and takes over her body, Jeannette proceeds to run up and down the stairs (bear in mind this is in total darkness), giggling and promising to show Phil where she fell. Her name is Clara, and she shows Phil where she hides so she can jump out and push people whilst they are on the stairs, she also tells him of a lady that was tipped over the balcony, Clara tripped at the top of the set of stairs on the left hand side of the staircase if your looking from the bottom up. She looks at Phil hard as he seems to have changed and she says he is the man who tells her off. She goes running back to the place where she fell and jumps up and down. At the top of the stairs we can all smell a very floral sweet perfume. (This is the place where a lady went over the balcony). 11.15pm Tea break. 11.40pm Upstairs room. We have to laugh as Jeannette goes to walk up the stairs she trips and nearly falls … why laugh? Not ½ hour earlier she was running up and down them as Clara with no torch light at all. Jeannette has an immediate crushing sensation to the chest and the emf goes off and keeps flashing. Phil says there are two girls and a boy here, aged 8-12 and they want to play. We start to sing Ring-a ring a roses and Incy Wincy spider. We all sit on the floor. Phil says the boys name is Peter. Jeannette can see a nanny on the spiral staircase, and feels that this lady died here, she had injuries before she was pushed down the stairs. Jeannette can see a really demonic face in her minds eye, she says its like looking at a horror film character its really nasty, she feels an Ouija board has been used here and this entity has been bought in this way. Phil confirms that there is supposed to a demon in the building. Jeannette sees a man 5’7” sandy coloured short hair, not fat but padded, it feels he killed the nanny. The name of Louise Stillwell is given. Something touches Gemma on the arm; everyone is sitting on the floor. Libby has cobweb effects over her head. Jeannette is compelled to walk over to the window where earlier Phil had been showing everyone the effects a vortex would give you. By standing in the corner the energies felt make you feel very giddy as if on a merry go round. She sense a young man who had thrown himself out of the window, he felt he just needed to end it all. We decide to try table tipping, Kevin is compelled to stand back as he felt as if he was falling, and Jeannette has trouble keeping her hands on the table as they feel as if they are being prised off. Someone is playing with Phil’s hair, a cold draught is felt going over the table, Phil calls out but nothing happens. 1.30am Séance and Tipping In a different room upstairs we try another table, Helen calls out to Robert Scott, Phil has immediate pins and needles down his left hand side, the table is trembling, and Phil knows Robert and three children are here. The table moves slightly but manly just trembles, so we close it down and head for downstairs. 2.35am We go to the smallest room and use a table there to try a séance. Helen calls out to spirit, the glass moves at the name of Robert. He wishes us to leave; he doesn’t like Jeannette, Helen or Gemma. Jeannette starts to cough rather violently. The glass moves to Peter who is standing on the outside of the circle, he doesn’t like him either. Helen calls out to see if any other spirits wish to talk to us, a woman moves the glass her name is Emily and then she also leaves. Jeannette calls out and the glass moves, a male wishing to talk to Zita, both Phil and Jeannette feel this is a grandfather link. But it turns out after much false information and messing about with the glass to be Robert causing trouble, I do have to say Zita’s Grandfather is in spirit and he is called Robert and he loved Margam Castle, so we feel that he did try his hardest to come through but the other Robert is far to strong and would not allow him to give more than a sentence of comfort to Zita. Robert does not like Jeannette as she holds the secret from Clara whom she encountered earlier and even with much prompting Jeannette is holding on to her promise of keeping Clara’s secret to herself. Robert says he doesn’t like Helen as she winds him up. Robert leaves the table. We close for the night. Team Two – Upper floors 9.30pm Lee picks up a spirit girl aged 3 or 4 years wearing a bonnet, Emily, she asks Lee if they have been to the children’s room and she disappears quickly. A slim 5’8 gentleman comes through, a goatee beard, mostly bald head just a little hair at the back and sides, aged about 45/48 a noise is heard similar to a cat and then a scratching noise. The man is wearing a blue check shirt. Lee suggests singing Ring – A –Ring – A – Roses to lure her out again, the emf goes off. Jess is given the name of Stuart. Everyone is singing and the emf goes off again. Orbs are seen in and above the circle. The emf is going every time Lee asks Emily to affect it. A draft is felt. A mans voice is heard and Lee asks if this is Stuart, the emf goes off. People sitting in the circle are getting colder. Lee thinks Stuart is not very nice and Emily is scared of him. They are not of the same era but the man controls Emily, Stuart Harlow is from 1942, Emily from 1785 she was Emily Griffiths. Dennis states that he had a Great Grandmother called Emily Griffiths. Jess feels someone tug her hair. A thud is heard from next door, Stuart is getting angry with Lee as he keeps asking him to do things all the time. Emily returns at Lee’s request and tells him she has a sister called Sarah who is 8. Emily goes to Donna and strokes her hand, Donna's hand is tingling. Emily strokes Donna’s hands and seems fascinated by her fingers. Lee’s guides tell him Emily passed with TB. Next door the room feels heavier and Lee feels Stuart is here. He calls out and a liver/white lurcher walks into the room. Emf goes off. Lee has the sensation of being hung, a woman, murdered but made to look like a suicide. This is residual energy and a red orb is caught on camera where Lee says the murderer is standing. The lady was a maid dressed in a long grey dress a white pinafore over the top. She was aged about 22/23. An older maid is shown to Lee who tells him she knew it was not suicide but had to keep quiet as she did not want to lose her job... A man’s image comes through in his early 50’s, thick black moustache, slicked back hair, dark navy suit, small collared shirt, bow tie with a gold pocket watch in his waistcoat pocket. Tells Lee she was strangled then hung to look suicidal, this man was having an affair with his first cousin and the maid found out so she was silenced. Rupert Mairring? 1879. He passed through a heart attack bought on by guilt. He is grounded as he is scared of what will happen to him if he passes over. He has been seen by a lot of people. He says the first cousin and a lot of family members lived in this building. Running sounds heard outside. Move to section f – 10.35pm Lee calls out, a knock is heard, Emily comes back, emf goes off. Lee asks the spirit by the window to move away and then go back and each time the emf goes off. The spirit remains unknown. An elegant lady 5’10 big flowing white dress with flower pattern on it, early 30’s comes through. Passed with TB, emf goes off, Elsie or Elsa visitation only, quite well to do early 1700’s. She returns for reasons unknown, a humble back ground with her. – New money. Tea break 11pm 11.45pm Downstairs rooms. Bottom of stairs, temperature is 10.5c Lee calls out orbs are seen on camera, footsteps are heard. Footsteps are heard on the stairs sounds like a ladies footfall. Taps and knocks heard by Marie who feels like she has just been pushed past. Lee asks spirit to move a specific chair nothing happens although two orbs are caught on camera on the chair. The sound of a door closing is heard, orbs caught on camera and Jean is pushed. Lee feels coldness on his right arm, Kate is then pushed. We move to the far downstairs room. Voices heard from next door but no one is there. Somebody touches Lee’s head; move to next room, there’s a strange smell in this room like Parma violets a sweet perfume smell. Orbs caught on camera again. A loud tap and then a flash outside but no on is there. Tea break 12.45am 1.20am downstairs far room. Glass swirling. Lee and Angela both see a male presence, Lee calls out the glass moves. A maid called Emily comes through, she is aware of other spirits in this building. She tells us the nasty one is upstairs at the moment, ad there are about 15 spirits residing within these walls. She was treated badly here, she is 30 years old and worked as a maid, she knows of an Emily, not the child Lee connected with earlier and says they are from the same era. She had two daughters Emily (jnr) and Sarah, Sarah has passed to the light and she wants to go with her daughter Emily, Lee promises to send them over later on. There a possibility Emily was linked to Kate in a past life. Emily knew we were coming tonight, she loved ring a ring of roses. There is a negative energy called Freddie he and Rupert are aware of each other but are from different times. Angela feels Rupert is behind her, Emily (jnr) says she will protect us. Emily (jnr) is standing behind Kate with her mother. Lee asks Emily (jnr) to do something to give proof and a flash from next door is seen, again an empty room. Lee asks her to do it again and an orb is caught on camera in the doorway. Emily says Freddie took her life by smothering her because of something she found out about. She died before her daughters, Emily is aware of the grounds man but that is all. Emily speaks welsh and Lee asks her a question in welsh …”do you understand welsh?” she answers yes. Emily was married, her husband worked here with her he has passed to the light, Emily lived in the 1700’ s her husband Stuart Williams. Lee closes the table down. 2.35am upstairs glass divination. Male spirit comes through, Freddie Hanahan aged about 40, and he wants us out and thinks he can hurt us, Lee puts him straight! He harmed Emily and still wants to do her and us harm, it’s what he enjoyed doing. He is angry; he wants to and has touched some of the women here tonight. He was a footman; he does not wish to go to the light he is happy to stay here. He was killed as a punishment, one of his murderer’s is still here in spirit also, and there were 5 that took his life. He was a rapist and still has those tendencies. Freddie is the man in the blue checked shirt that Lee picked up earlier, he actually raped Emily and Emily (jnr) is the result. Richards’s camera batteries drain. Lee feels the grounds man is next door and asks Freddie to step aside, Emily comes in and tells Lee the grounds man is indeed next door. John is the name given for the grounds man and he was murdered, his murderer also stays here in spirit. John Scott was married with five children, and was in his 50’s when he passed. He has been seen on the stairs. Lee closes the circle down at 3.20am and he assists the ladies over to the light. This was an interesting evening, with names and details the same or similar being picked up by our Mediums.
