REPORT - MULBERRY HOUSE 27th NOVEMBER 2010 On an extremely cold late afternoon we meet up with three team members of R.I.P Wales at Mulberry house. This team are scientific based so we were all looking forward to seeing how each team worked. A warm and welcoming team made us instantly feel as if we had known them for years so a good start to the evening. We were sleeping over at this lovely Georgian building and everyone was allocated rooms and we disappeared to settle in before dinner and then the investigation. This is were it all started really. Everyone bar Jeannette and Peter were in the C wing, Pete and Jeannette had been given a room in D wing, after half an hour searching for the elusive room it was found in the attic area of the original building. Jeannette went in first and shivered, not with cold but a heavy energy could be felt in this room and she knew they would not get a good sleep as a male energy would continually talk to them and also pull covers off so they chose a different room for the night just across the landing. This room had a completely different feel to it more child like . Everyone seemed to be in very high spirits, and through the first half of the night we were laughing and cracking jokes the whole time, which for us is very unusual, we all agreed it was as if we were kids again being allowed to stay up late… most odd! After a really nice evening meal we agreed to meet in the main area (staircase) to decide where to start the investigation. Investigation starts in a foyer near large classroom Debbie and Jeannette pick up on an elderly gentleman in his late 60’s about 5’4”, name of Jenkins, he is stooped and walks on wobbly legs. A caretaker, year 1945 - 1948. Gordon but also seeing Gordon’s gin so not sure if this is his name or wobbly because he liked a drink. Getting a lower spine in jury from a war wound. His spirit returns as and when, as he used to enjoy his work here. There is a hot spot by the door, Debbie feels it could have been a hospital or rehabilitation centre. A black and white cocker spaniel spirit is seen meandering through us. Emma stood next to Julie in the doorway to the classroom area and she became really hot from waist up yet her legs were freezing. Leg temperature was 17c body was 22c and the hot sweaty hands (they were very clammy) were only 13c . Emma moved to the other side of the foyer to cool down, but became hot again and had tingling sensation on her left cheek. Julie had this same tingling when she was standing next to Emma. Jeannette asks Emma to ask spirit to touch the other cheek but instead the sensation just disappeared. Jeannette felt around Emma for a variant in energy and weirdly the more energy was on the right side not the left where all the sensations were., without saying anything she then asks Julie to feel the energy and if there’s any changes, Jeannette whispers to Debbie that the right side is more energised and Julie then says how odd it seems as the right side is higher energy vibration. Everyone took turns in standing in the one section where most of the sensations where felt but not everyone suffered like Emma. Readings taken by Gareth fluctuated and he could not say either way scientifically what was occurring. The classroom Emma feels this room is fun loving, warm and cosy as if who ever works or has worked there is happy doing their work. Debbie feels as if she is on board ship, swaying and a bit queasy. Gareth and his team set up an EVP and also take temperatures etc as they are doing this Jeannette sees a shadow in the doorway and then a mist just walks/glides in towards the team members. Debbie senses a nun the name Petra is given to Debbie. Emma is standing with her back to the sink and is suffering the fluctuation of temperatures as before. We call out to spirit, no response, we call questions out for EVP, on the request of "can you turn the cameras off" Jan's camera turns off as she is low in battery power (new batteries put in just before we started), she waits and when she turns it back on the battery has two bars and works for the rest of the night. Jeannette is sitting on one of the tables and feels as if this area should have been a wood or large garden with trees she realises her legs are swinging back and forth like a child’s and she does feel as if she is a child on a swing. Helen comes up with a name of Annie and 1740’s. There are conflicting energies in this room, Emma moves from the sink area and goes to the far opposite corner where she feels uneasy and sick and just moves away. Jeannette stands in the same spot and has a violent headache and feels sick. Meanwhile Emma has sat down and Debbie places her hand near Emma’s back and between our logo of Isis wings she feels a lot of heat, Jeannette mentally asks the spirit to go with her to the corner of the room and for Emma to walk over as well, Emma feels the heat go (spooky!). Jeannette and Emma stand side by side and Jeannette mentally asks the spirit to join us again and they can both sense a male energy standing between them. They open their eyes and have actually moved apart from each other by about one foot although their feet are in the same position. They close their eyes to see if just the fact of standing there does that to them but although they do move slightly apart it is not as great as the original move. Jeannette’s hair is violently ruffled and she visibly jumps. On asking spirit to leave her alone she clearly hears a chuckle and a male spirit say f --- off, then … oh dear! But all goes quiet so we decide to have a coffee break. Main staircase Everyone on entering the building had been drawn to the main staircase, yet no reports of anything paranormal had been mentioned. This feeling was so strong that Gareth’s team had set up equipment to monitor the staircase during the night. Both Helen and Jeannette had felt there had been a hanging /suicide in front of the window on the stairs, halfway down the stairs was the spot everyone had mentioned earlier of being watched by a female. Debbie and Julie stand on this spot, Jeannette and Helen are at the top with Peter and the others are in the hallway downstairs. The name of Petra is given to Debbie again, and whilst Julie and Debbie talk about this lady Gareth is called from the hub to say a large orb had been seen on screen dipping around them and moving down the stairs. The lady is a Mother Superior in her 40’s - 50’s tall about 5’8” An English/Irish connection, name of Augusta is given to Debbie. She moved from here to another convent to do possibly midwifery or nursing. A woman of very few words a fair but firm person. Meanwhile Jeannette and Helen are picking up on the hanging, slightly to one side of the main window area. Jeannette also feels a sense of negativity towards Julie and Debbie, she asks who is with her and she is told a female possibly novice nun. This girl has seen the nastier side to the Mother superior and has to watch her at all times as she does not trust her. “As usual” she says (spirit at top of stairs) “she is in the limelight and it is not fair“, meanwhile because Jeannette is moving to constantly keep an eye on the Mother superior alias Julie and Debbie, Helen deliberately blocks her view to see what happens, Jeannette glares at Helen and eventually Helen moves to one side. Helen suggests they walk towards Julie and Debbie but Jeannette does not trust the energy with her so they wait until the stairway is clear then they re-group in the hallway. It takes a few minutes for the feelings to wear off. Jeannette feels a Monk walk away name of Frederick. Debbie has a jack the lad energy with her now in his early 20’s in the early 1900’s. There is a cockiness about him, linked with stables and horses. He is a prankster. Caroline feels there should be a half moon table near the stairs with a vase of flowers, she also senses a woman with a Red Setter dog on the staircase. Chapel A definite reverence is felt in here and very cold yet it is 12.3c . Debbie feels as if she should knock before entering and that we should all whisper. Gareth sets up EVP recorder. Jeannette and Helen both have really sore throats all of a sudden so they ask Debbie to call out. Debbie feels there are no spirits here, that it is a chapel and does what it is intended to do. Gareth calls out to spirit asking numerous questions. Emma feels a very friendly priest is here welcoming us to his place of worship. The year 1886 is given. Debbie is feeling very heavy in the leg area and both her and Jeannette are drawn to the top end of the church. They both feel as if they are walking down stairs (spiral) as if entering a cellar and then a tunnel and they point to the direction (towards another church) where they feel it goes. Gareth confirms that in that area there is another church. Both ladies feel very strongly that a tunnel runs under this floor. Room C15 Debbie does not like the energy in here at all. Jeannette feels that things get moved and tugged and pushed, she would not like to sleep in here. Debbie keeps getting a face almost goblin like or possibly gargoyle. Gareth does an EVP session. Debbie has a pain in the right eye and feels if she has an eye condition also a connection with the sea. Jeannette has a sudden hacking coughing fit (not hers!) and has to leave the room. Meanwhile Debbie has a light anomaly show up on Jan’s camera when she has the eye condition at the same time Gareth’s hub calls down to say a large orb has been seen around Debbie’s head and caught on tape. Emma feels this area was a sick bay and or an orphanage, she thought the room should have been much longer. No more is forthcoming so we have a tea break. Room D4 Debbie senses a maid/servant, name of Mary who looks out possibly at the chapel, and someone in the chapel would have sensed being watched. Debbie takes a group across the hall leaving Julie, Jan, Helen and Jeannette in this room. They call out and hear a noise, they ask if they can make the noise again and it sounds like the hangers in the wardrobe are moving, no one is standing or moving around . We ask again and it happens again, yet when we open the wardrobe door and film nothing happens, no information is forthcoming at all and we do wonder if the large pipes in this room were responsible for the knocking sound as they may have been cooling down, we have no way of confirming either possibility. Room D6 Debbie has taken her team here and feels nervous or anxious. The feeling of wanting to be outside. A lot of flowers like springtime, a young female who worked here name of Mary Curtis. Came from a large family and put into service to keep the family going. Irish connection and the age of 24/25 All residual energy. Emma feels lonely in here, likes to look out the window. Debbie’s team moves to sewing room and top of stairs and Jeannette’s team move into this room; Quite a few light anomalies in answer to questions being asked, we turn the lights on and check for insects but find nothing. Lights are turned off. The other group rejoin us and light anomalies are caught on tape going across Gareth only. We tried the dust test and this naturally showed up but not moving in the way the other lights moved. (See video clips at bottom of page). Sewing Room Debbie’s team only, Very cold. Debbie has a metallic taste in her mouth. A residual energy of people a very busy stressed feeling but no information forthcoming. Whole group to room C32 Jeannette senses someone looking out of the window, as if waiting for someone to come home. She says the taps turn on by themselves and that any one sleeping here would be watched and possibly touched. Debbie picks on someone watching and waiting for someone to return from war (first world war), 1915 is given. A mother figure who has lost her son, a lot of sadness felt. Name of Byron or Bryan given. Debbie feels a cenotaph is nearby and Gareth confirms that there is a memorial about 5 minutes away. Jeannette feels there is a lot of energy here, the feeling that people would be tucked into bed as if the woman is still looking after her son. Noises heard in this room would be of tidying up. 1975 is very significant to changes to this building. Conference room Gareth sets up for EVP and has also set up an Irish wind chime experiment. This being a hanging wind chime but secured in a sealed jar, thus evading any drafts making it move. Gareth asks questions for the EVP and we are all watching this chime to see if it moves, Gareth says “we’re sat here watching this and meanwhile a full apparition will walk behind us” we all laughed and then a chuckle and gasp from Helen who’s our camera woman, as she captures a large light anomaly come out of the screen behind Gareth and watches it move towards him and then it disappears ….. Right on cue!! (Video clip at bottom of page). No other information is forthcoming. Games Room Glass divination, the glass only wants to move in response to questions when no male energy is nearby, if Gareth or Peter lean nearer the table the glass stops, we have never had this happen before and at one point Gareth had walked away and Peter was sat to one side of Jeannette leaning back out the way. Jeannette relaxed and lent back which meant Peter was at the front and the glass just stopped dead (excuse the pun), he sat back and Jeannette lent forward and the glass moved. It transpired that a Monk and a Nun had an affair of which an illegitimate child had been conceived, the Nun took her own life and that of the unborn child preferring to have judgment in death than in life. The monk then took his life (hung himself) as he could not live with the knowledge that he had indirectly caused the death of the nun and child. The names of Frederick and Jean/Jane/Annie were given also French and Irish connections. Gareth had set up equipment to measure noise and every time the spirit went to answer a question the machine started pitching higher just before the glass moved … who knows maybe this was to be proof of spirit communication ??? The evening was closed down and we all retired to bed. All in all a very enjoyable investigation was had, it was great working together and we hope to plan some more investigations together in the near future. |
