NEWPORT
PROVISIONS MARKET
NEWPORT PROVISIONS MARKET.

19.01.2008

This was an unusual venue to investigate and we were not too
disappointed in the little activity we had, there are definitely
spirits at this building and we have caught some excellent
unexplained light anomalies on camera. Noises were heard by
the whole group, the let down was the tremendous noise coming
from the surrounding pubs and clubs, maybe re investigated on
a quiet night we might have better results.

Cellars
8.00pm

The name of Henry Etterbridge is given. Otherwise all is very
quiet .

We decide to return later to the cellars and move on to the
upstairs, café area.
A spirit man introduces himself as Charlie and then asks
Jeannette “ alright then my dearie?” he is balding just a few
wisps behind his ears, appx 5’ – 5’6  wearing baggy brown corduroy
trousers and brown shirt, he looks scruffy. He left his job on
September 14th 1973, he loved his work and enjoyed meeting
people, he was the odd job man.  A spirit lady is spotted by Marie
and Jeannette but they get different costumes and era’s Marie
gets Rosemary and 1639 and Jeannette  gets Rosemarie Sandford 5’
8” long blonde hair, and a passing of a lung condition in 1946 aged
65 but she looks like she is dressed in 1970 style clothing. There
seems to be a confliction of era’s Jeannette asks her what is
happening, Rosemarie says she has had two past lives she has also
been Rosemarie Llewellyn in 1974/75 aged 24. From Bletchingly.
She shows the medium a pail of apples and tells her she does not
like to hear swearing. She passed the age of 64, murdered by
having her throat slit. This is a little confusing unless she was
murdered in her past live when she was aged 65. We could not get
any sense out of this and Rosemarie decided it was enough and
left.
We moved onto the offices.

Richard felt blowing on his face, we tried to reconstruct it but
were unable to … see Richard be careful of what you ask for
spirit do oblige!

Tower/Attic rooms.

Again very little happening we could all feel the energy
building but spirit did not wish to talk to us so we left and went
to the vaults.

Jeannette calls out and Charlie appears he is smoking a pie and
some of us can smell the tobacco. Maria confirms that an odd job
man called Charlie did work at the market and the room
Jeannette sensed him in was his workshop. Charlie says he lived
in Fford road.  The Golden lion was his favourite pub. He worked
with Arthur, he shows Jeannette a man who is very thin on top
with a huge moustache and a very funny character. Charlie
liked helping round the market. His wife liked the ribbon and
lace stall. They bought their meat from the abattoir not the
market. His favourite stall was the wacky baccy stall … his pet
name for it as it sold unusual tobaccos.
He tells us there is a tall man working here who acts a lot like
Hitler, he is a young un!
On being asked where does the man work Charlie is not to sure,
he sees him walking around the market area a lot.
Charlie tells us upstairs is a photographers, the frames will be
twisted and the unexplainable smell of liquorice.
Charlie did not serve in the war as he had damaged his leg but he
done his bit and shows Jeannette boats. Jeannette asks him what
happened here in the war and is surprised to be told to **** off
she asks him why he said that and he apologises but there had
been a lot of casualties and a great loss of life here in the war
and he gets upset about it.  He tells us the Americans were here
he doesn’t like the “yanks” also Dutch and French Canadian
served.
He remembers a big parade, huge fireworks display since he has
passed. When asked if anything like a big event had happened
since he passed over he tells us  that a new statue has gone up
(confirmed) and a bloody great building which blocks his view
(confirmed a new theatre has been built).
Séance upper floor café area….. glass divination (Jeannette
starts the glass energy going but removes her finger from the
glass to prove the glass is not being pushed around by a team
member, only the guests have their fingers on the glass,
Jeannette will also talk to the spirit and obtain information
which can then be verified or not).
Helen calls out . . . the spirit is female does not want us to leave,
she is with Jeannette and will always be with her she has been
over for a long time. Jeannette confirms it is her Nan who helps
her with her work and passed over a long time ago.
A male energy comes in, attached to someone at the table, the
glass moves to Tracey he is relative an uncle name begins with N
…. Nassir
Tracey’s mums side of the family, Diane’s dad passed with heart
problems..  A spirit man who worked in the building likes Tracey
and all the other women not the men, but likes her best. His
name Stewart McKenzie a butcher. He worked in the cattle
market in the 1900’s born 1910 April 16th, passed in 1975. He lived in
Newport in St Julian’s he left a wife who is still alive and into
her 90’s.  He was a jack the lad and thought he was good looking.
He is here with other spirits.
No record was kept for any other messages

He tells us there is a male spirit in the cellars and we should go
there, we do, but nothing wants to communicate with us.

We call a finish to the investigation.
